Due to the complexity of DVD encryption and the slow speed
of decrypting DVD contents, we decide not to burn DVD
soundtrack cd directly to avoid waste of blank cds. The
preferred procedure is listed as following: convert DVD to
mp3 or wav, then burn these mp3s or wavs to cd. Now x2cd
supports DVD navigator to treat the whole DVD as one
continuous stream, not several individual .vob files any
more! If you get decrypted vob files in your harddisk, you
can add them as usual media files.

Insert your DVD disc into your computer's DVD driver

Start X2CD and press "Convert" button to convert DVD
to mp3/wav.

Open DVD's *.IFO file. They are usually located in
the VIDEO_TS directory in the DVD disc. Any one is ok. Once
x2cd opens the files, x2cd will analyze titles available
and add them into media list for your choice.

X2CD adds all titles the DVD has, as following:

Select the segments from the DVD title.
Double click
the item or
press button

then you will see the media chooser dialog. It's also used
to listen to the music selected.

You need to select an appropriate language ( for
multi-language DVDs).
You can seek in the file and find the beginning and
ending of a soundtrack. When you find the beginning,
press
button
and you will get the current start time.
Press button
for setting the stop time. You can also click on the
displayed time to popup a small window to adjust start/stop
time accurately.

After that, press button
to add this segment into the list. And you will be able to
select next soundtrack just from the ending point of the
previous track. Repeat until all contents in this vob file
are checked and selected. Then press the red button to exit
this dialog.
Functions of other buttons in this dialog:
Jump
to the previous track.
Test
the select segment. Play from the selected start point to
the end point.
Play
the file. Play from the beginning of the whole file and to
the end of the file.
Pause/continue
playing the track.
Stop
playing.
Jump
to the next track.
Seek
to the selected start point.
Seek
to the selected stop point.
Delete
the current track.
6. Repeat 3. and 4. until all necessary segments are
selected.
7. Arrange the order if necessary
8. If you
need to rename the track, select the item first and then
single click the title area. You will be prompt to enter
the new title for the track.

9. Press "start" to convert selected DVD to mp3s or wavs.
10. Before start the session, you can select wav format and
mp3 bitrate you preferred.

Frequency select "Original" means use the audio source's
original wav format. Usually DVD has a 48Khz sampling rate
while CD is using 44Khz sampling rate. It's recommended
that you should use 160kbits/s or higher for CD quality
mp3s.
