1. How it works? DVD drives just have 5 chances to change it's region code and DVD Region-Free will not touch and decrease the Region Counter, if DVD Region-Free works properly on your machine, your DVD player will play any region movies without any pop up window, if not, your DVD player will ask you to change the driver's region settings, you need cancel it. Please be careful to change it since when the Region Counter become 0, you will have no chance to change it any more. 2. Why I still get the pop up window which ask me to change the region settings? 1) Make sure that you select right DVD drive in "Settings" -> "General" window. 2) Uninstall and reinstall DVD Player software to see the result. 3) If the problem still exists, please contact us 3. What is Region Counter? A counter in hardware or software that stores the number of region changes still available. Everytime you change the region settings, the counter will decrease. Counter usually starts at 4, and when it reaches 0, you'll no longer be able to change the region settings. 4. Does DVD Region-Free allow changing Region Counter freely? DVD Region-Free doesn't touch your DVD drive's Region Counter, it doesn't allow limitless changes to Region Counter either, so you must be careful to change it. But DVD Region-Free still works when the Region Counter is down to 0! 5. What is Region-Free? Region-Free can mean that your DVD drive (eg. DVD-ROM) will not check for the region settings of your DVD title, and will playback any title from any region. 6. What is Region-Locked? If your DVD drive (eg. DVD-ROM) is said to be Region-Locked, then it means that you can no longer change the region settings for this drive. If your DVD drive is said to be Region-Locked, then it means that while your device may not be locked yet, if you continue to change its region settings, then it will be locked after the number of changes allowed (stored in the Region Counter - see above) is used up. 7. What are RPC1 and RPC2? RPC1 refers to Region-Free status, where region control solely rests with the software player. RPC2 refers to Region-Locked status, where region control rests with both the DVD drive and the software player. 8. What is Regional Coding enhancement (RCE)? It's a digital enhancement added to some Warner Bros, New Line, Columbia DVDs to stop region 1 (R1) DVDs from playing on Region-Free DVD drive. |
